Somatics Basics Workshop
In this workshop, we will learn basic Somatic movements to improve balance, flexibility, and give you the tools to stay out of pain. Normal daily stresses, sore muscles, even long term muscular pain can be alleviated by Somatic exercises. Somatic movements are very gentle, slow, and thoughtful, appropriate for all levels, even (and especially) throughout pregnancy. This is a good class for everyone, as a basic introduction to Somatics and as a great review for those experienced. Somatics is easy, fun, and often dramatically effective at eliminating pain and increasing movement and flexibility.

Yoga & Somatics: A Somatic Approach to Yoga Practice
Through slow, mindful movement we will explore basic elements of yoga poses in order to improve balance, breath, flexibility, and coordination.
Classes will resume in September
Somatic Essentials
Taught by Martha Peterson www.EssentialSomatics.comIn this class, we learn essential tools for body maintenance and also review the basic Hanna Somatics cat stretch. This can serve as a great introduction to Somatics for the curious.

Please wear comfortable clothing to allow free movement. No skirts or jeans, please. Expect to remove jewelry, watches, and belts. Office located at Shakti Yoga, 1861 Springfield Ave, Maplewood, NJ.
